1991 Joshua Tyler

Joshua Tyler - Class of 1991

Josh was a 1991 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School. Josh was a three year letter winner in Baseball & Basketball in addition to earning a letter in Golf and Cross Country while at Upper Perkiomen. Josh, a standout baseball player for the Indians, earned All PAC-10 honors in 1989. 1990 & 1991, while earning MVP and All PAC-10 honors for the 1991 basketball team. Josh continued his academic and athletic career at the University of Pittsburgh where he was a three letter winner. While at the University of Pittsburgh. Josh was named Big East Player of the Week three times during his career. Josh was also named to the Big East All-Academic/Athletic Team in 1992 & 1994. in 1994 was named Big East 1st Team 3rd Baseman and the Big East Player oft he Year. In 1994, Josh finished in the top 10 in the nation in batting average. Josh was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 24th round of the 1994 amateur draft and  continued to play in the Brewer minor league organization through the 1997 season in which he was named the team's Most Valuable Player. After the 1997 season, a rule 5 draft pick sent Josh to the San Francisco Giants organization where he played from 1998-2002. Josh retired after the 2002 season, ending his career at the AAA level Fresno Grizzlies.
