Members Bio.

1958 Larry Hoff

Larry Hoff - Class of 1958

Larry graduated from Upper Perkiomen High School in 1958 where he participated in football, basketball and baseball. Larry served as a captain for the basketball and baseball teams, and received All Bux-Mont honorable mention honors in football and basketball. In baseball, Larry was a member of the varsity team for three years, earning 1st Team All Bux-Mont during his Junior and Senior year. Larry received the Thomas A. Aliff Football Award at graduation. 
Larry was a member of the 1954 Upper Perk Knee-Hi, 13-15 year old team which participated in the State Tournament. Larry was a standout player for the Upper Perkiomen American Legion baseball team. At age 16, he became a member of the Limeport AA team in the Tri-County Baseball League. Larry received invitations to try out camps from the Phillies, St. Louis and Cleveland organizations. He went on to play baseball for Bally in the Berks County Recreation League from 1958 to 1962. Larry also played softball for Eagle A.A. for 13 years and guided his team as State runner-ups in his last year.
Larry went on to coach in the Upper Perk Little League from 1971 to 1974. He then coached Junior Legion baseball in 1975 & 1976, before moving up to the Senior Legion program where he coached from 1977 to 1986. Larry guided his Senior Legion team to two league championships and five straight regional appearances. After his coaching career, Larry served as the commissioner of the Bux-Mont Legion for 20 years. Larry also served 6 years on the Upper Perk Recreation Council.
Larry started bowling in 1960. Larry bowled a perfect game at East Greenville Fire House. He was inducted into the Pottstown Bowling Association Hall of Fame and has bowled in the State Tournament for 29 years. Larry also loves to play golf, becoming a member of the PGA while having a handicap of 8. He had a hole in one at the Twin Ponds Golf Course.
Larry worked for the Knoll Group for 35 years as a senior design assistant. He received a patent for designing a locking system for desk cabinets.
Larry served as a volunteer fire fighter for the East Greenville Fire Company for 25 years. He also served on the Church Consistory at Pennsburg U.C.C. for 6 years and sings in the choir and serves on the Cemetery Committee.
