To participate in an in-season PIAA sport, student-athletes must provide proof of insurance detailed on the PIAA Preparticipation Physical Form. Parent/Guardian or individual coverage is the primary coverage should a student-athlete experience an injury. The School District has secondary injury insurance coverage for all athletes when the injury is of a "catastrophic nature." That insurance is limited in scope and coverage due to the nature of athletics. CLICK HERE for more information about the secondary student-athlete accident insurance.
To assist UP families with medical coverage for their student, individual insurance plans may be purchased at a nominal cost. Two types of plans are available based on the coverage level. CLICK HERE for more information about purchasing student insurance.
