2007 Rebecca Hilgar

Rebecca Hilgar - Class of 2007

Becky graduated from Upper Perkiomen High School in 2007 where she excelled academically and athletically. Throughout high school, Becky earned four varsity letters in field hockey and lacrosse. As a player on many outstanding field hockey teams, Becky was a stand-out throughout her career. During her senior season, Becky was first team All-State, first team All-Area, and second team All PAC-10 while helping to guide her team to PAC-10 Championships in 2003, 2005 and 2006. In 2006, the Upper Perk field hockey team won a District One Championship and success continued for the team as Upper Perk played in the PIAA State Championship game suffering a tough loss to perennial power Wyoming Seminary. Becky was named the team’s MVP and Fall Athlete of the Season. Her junior season, she was second team All-State, second team All-Area, and first team All PAC-10. As a sophomore, Becky earned Mercury Athlete of the Week honors. Becky finished her field hockey career with outstanding statistics in career and single season goals, assists and points.

In addition to field hockey, Becky excelled in lacrosse while at Upper Perk. On the lacrosse field, Becky shined during her senior year. She was selected as captain, team MVP and Offensive Player of the Year honors. Additionally, she earned honorable mention All-Area and All PAC-10. During her junior year, Becky earned second team All PAC-10 honors.

Becky also exemplified the term “student” in student-athlete, while demonstrating excellence in the classroom at Upper Perkiomen High School. Becky was inducted into the National Honor Society where she served as the President. Becky was also the recipient of the President’s Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence and earned Distinguished Honors all four year of high school. Becky graduated from Upper Perk in the top 10% of her class. She also earned field hockey all-state academic team and PAC-10 Scholar Athlete honors and lacrosse PAC-10 Scholar Athlete honors for her academic performance during her junior and senior year.

Becky’s academic and athletic excellence continued at the James Madison University where she studied Pre-Med Biology and played field hockey. Becky was a member of the Dean’s list in each of her four years at JMU. In each of her four year at JMU; she received the CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award and was a member of the ZAG/NFHCA National Academic Squad. In her sophomore, junior and senior year, she was named to the JMU Athletic Director Scholar Athlete team. Becky graduated from the James Madison University in 2011 and continued her education at Seton Hall University School of Law where she graduated  with a law degree.

 As a field hockey player at James Madison University, she earned four varsity letters throughout her career, earning playing time as a freshman and playing regularly over the next three years. Becky finished her career at JMU with 6 goals, 5 assists and 17 points. Becky was an active member of academic and athletic. organizations as well as a volunteer and community service representative on numerous committees and forums.
