2006 Kristin Reed

Kristin Reed - Class of 2006

Kristin Reed graduated from Upper Perkiomen High School in 2006 where she participated in Cross Country, Soccer, Winter Track, Basketball and Spring Track, earning 10 varsity letters throughout her high school career. Kristin was named the UPHS Outstanding Female Athlete in 2005-2006, was the Summit Award Winner 2005 Sportsmanship and, the 2006 Outstanding Individual Performance recipient. A Wendy’s High School Heisman Finalist and 2-time AAU Junior Olympic Medalist in the 1500m, she was also a member of the National Honor Society.
Throughout her athletic career at UPHS, Kristin achieved numerous accomplishments:
Cross Country — 2-time Mercury Runner-of-the-Year; All-Southeastern PA Team; PAC-10 Champion 2005; 3-time District I Medalist; 3-time State Qualifier; a State Medalist; UPHS MVP 2004-05, 2005-06.
Soccer — Team Captain 2005, 2006; 3-time PAC-10 1st  Team; Mercury  1st Team, All Southeastern PA Team 2005; UPHS MVP 2004-05, 2005-06.
Winter Track — Team Captain 2005, 2006; 3-time State Qualifier; School Record in the Mile 5:12.88; UPHS MVP 2004-2005.
Spring Track — Team Captain 2005, 2006; 3-time Mercury 1st Team; PTFC All-State Second Team 1600m 2004; 1600m District I Champion 2005; 3-time State Qualifier and Medalist (274 2004); School Record in the 1600m 4:57.15; Scholastic Play-by-Play Network 1st Team All-Area 2003-04; member of the Girls’ Track and Field Team PAC-10 Champions (9-0) 2005; MVP 2003-04, 2004-05, 2005,06.
Kristin continued her education and athletic career at the University of Maryland where she ran Cross Country, Indoor Track and Spring Track all four years. While at UMD, she set the school record in the 3000 meter Steeplechase; was named to the All-ACC Academic Cross Country Team in 2008; was a 2009 NCAA Regional Qualifier in the Steeplechase; was a 2008 and 2009 NCAA Regional Qualifier in Cross Country and, the Cross County MVP her senior year. Majoring in Kinesiology and achieving a BS in Physical Education, Kristin was the recipient of the University of Maryland President’s Cup for Academic Achievement, a member of Phi Alpha Epsilon Honorary Society and a member of the Physical Education Student Organization from 2007-2010 serving as President 2009-2010.


Kristin went on to study at Drexel University from 2011 to 2013 where she received a Master Degree in Special Education/Autism and continued on to Holy Family University where she attained a second Masters Degree in TESOL in 2018.


Kristin went on to coach soccer, cross country and track in various venues including the Harleysville Soccer Association, FC Providence Soccer, Upper Perkiomen Middle School and, Penndale Junior High in the North Penn School District. In 2017, she qualified for the Boston Marathon and continues to play for Quakertown in the Tri-County Women’s Soccer League.
