2005 Kaitlyn Scholl

Kaitlyn Scholl - Class of 2005

Kaitlyn graduated from Upper Perkiomen High School in 2005 where she excelled academically and athletically. Throughout high school, Kaitlyn was a rare three sport athlete, earning four varsity letters in field hockey and lacrosse along with one varsity letter in  basketball. As a player on excellent field hockey teams, Kaitlyn stood out. During her junior and senior seasons, Kaitlyn was first team All-State, first team All-Area, and first team All PAC-10. Her sophomore season, she was second team All-State, first team All-Area, and first team All PAC-10. As a freshman, Kaitlyn earned honorable mention All PAC-10 honors. Kaitlyn was an integral part of the success of the Upper Perkiomen field hockey program throughout her career, helping guide the Indians to PAC-10 Conference championships in 2001 and 2003. Kaitlyn finished her field hockey career as the all-time leader in goals and assists and single season: record holder for goals and assists. In addition to field hockey, Kaitlyn excelled in lacrosse and basketball. On the lacrosse field, Kaitlyn shined during her senior year earning honorable mention Mercury All-Area and second team All PAC-10. During her freshman and sophomore years, Kaitlyn played basketball earning a varsity letter her sophomore year. Kaitlyn also played on the prestigious X-Calibur Club field hockey team which captured the 2004 National Indoor Tournament and National Hockey Festival. Kaitlyn also exemplified the term “student” in student-athlete. She demonstrated excellence in the classroom at Upper Perkiomen High School. Kaitlyn was inducted into the National Honor Society. She also earned field hockey All-State academic team and lacrosse academic All-American honors for her academic performance from 2001-2005. Kaitlyn’s academic and athletic excellence continued at the University of North Carolina  where she studied Exercise and Sports Science and played field hockey. Kaitlyn graduated from; the University of North Carolina in 2009.  As a field hockey player at University of North Carolina, Kaitlyn’s excellent play and winning ways continued exactly where it left off from high school. She played on multiple NCAA qualifying teams in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. In 2007, the University of North Carolina captured the ACC Championship and reached the pinnacle of success in 2007 as NCAA Division I National Champions with a record of24-0. Kaitlyn earned Rookie of the Week honors in 2005 as a freshman and ACC player of the week during her senior year while serving as a captain for the Tar Heels field hockey team. Kaitlyn was also awarded the Marjorie Moses Schwab Unsung Hero Award in 2008. Throughout her high school and collegiate careers, Kaitlyn continued playing field hockey throughout the summer on many elite national and international field hockey teams, garnering many championships.
