Members Bio.

2000 Jodi Clugston

Jodi Clugston - Class of 2000

Jodi graduated from Upper Perkiomen High School in 2000, Jodi played on the men’s soccer team in 1997 and was the only female keeper in the U.S.to play on the men’s Varsity team. She lettered in soccer for three years. The girls’ soccer program was started in 1998 and she earned First Team All-Conference in 1998 and 1999. She was the team MVP and co-captain both years. In 1999, she was the Inquirer Player of the Month for October. She then earned NSCAA Adidas All-American, Gatorade Player of the Year and PA State Player of the Year. She was a Parade Magazine All-American in 2000. She was the Upper Perkiomen High School All-Around Outstanding Female Athlete in 2000 and was given the Sports Booster Outstanding Achievement Award.

She earned 3 varsity awards in basketball and 4 varsity awards in lacrosse. She earned most improved player in 1997, First Team All-Conference in 1998 & 1999 and Second Team All Conference in 2000. She earned a Summit Award for Outstanding Female Athletic Career Achievement in 2000.

In High School, she also participated in Choir & National Honor Society. She was recruited and received a full scholarship to University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia.

She was a member of the Valley Soccer Club team in 1996 & 1997 and a member of the Outdoor State Challenge Cup Champions in 1996. She played for FC Delco Premier for three years; they were State Champions all three years. In 1999, the team finished as regional champions and third at Nationals. Jodi played for ODP EPYSA from 1996 to 2000; they were the State Champions in 1997. She also played on the Regional team from 1996-2000, and in 1996, they were the Regional Champions. She played on the National Team from 1997-2000.

In 1999, she was voted the best goalkeeper in the U.S. for the U18 team. During her four year membership on the National team, the U18 team placed 2nd in The Albena Cup in Bulgaria and the U16 team place 3rd in The International Tournament Cup in Disney World. 

At UVA, Jodi was the starting goalkeeper for two years. She had to shorten her career due to multiple concussions. She holds three career records in that short period of time including 8th in saves with 72, 6th  in shutouts with 9 and 7th in goals against average with 1.19. She was an undergraduate student coach in 2002, 2003, and 2004 and traveled with the team to Michigan and Brazil. In 2004, the team won the ACC’s by beating UNC in penalty kicks.
