Members Bio.

1999 Julie Hess

Julie Hess - Class of 1999

Julie Hess graduated from Upper Perkiomen High School in 1999. She earned three Varsity letters in Field Hockey and four Varsity letters in Lacrosse.
In Field Hockey, Julie earned PAC-10 All-League three times, The Pottstown Mercury All-Area three times and All-State two times. She scored 37 goals. In lacrosse, she earned PAC10 All-League three times and had 126 goals.
In college, she played field hockey for four years. In 1999, she earned PSAC Rookie of the Year, PSAC All-League and 2nd Team All-American. In 2000, she earned PSAC All-League and 1st team All-American. In 2001, she earned PSAC All-League and 2™ team All-American. In 2002, she earned PSAC All-League, 1st team All-American. She had 54 career goals, 22 assists, 141 points, which is currently No. 7 in all time scoring for Division II. She holds the IUP records for points, goals and assists. She also played lacrosse in 2000 and scored 22 goals and had 11 assists. After not having a winning season since 1988, she helped lead the IUP team to their first NCAA tournament and helped lead the team to a 47-27 record in four years. She is a four time IUP Scholar Athlete and has won the PSAC Scholar Athlete Award.
