Members Bio.

1999 Darin Henry

Darin Henry - Class of 1999

Darin graduated from Upper Perkiomen High School in 1999 where he participated in football, basketball and baseball. He was a 4 year letterman in football, a 3 year letterman in basketball and a 3 year letterman in baseball. He earned the following awards: PAC-10 1st Team Honors Academic All-Conference team in 1998 and was a starting player for the 1997 PAC-10 Championship team and District One AAA runner-up. In Baseball, Darin earned PAC-10 All-League Honorable Mention in 1999 and was selected PAC-10 Academic All-Conference. In 1999, Darin was selected to represent Upper Perk as a player in the Carpenter Cup All-Star game. Darin was also a member of the 1998 Bux-Mont American Legion regular season Championship team and the 1999 Bux-Mont American Legion Play off Championship team. Darin was selected to play in the 1999 Bux-Mont Legion All-Star game and was selected 1st team All-League for his legion team. At the 1999 Blue & Gold Banquet, Darin received the Terry Fetterman Memorial Award, Barry J. Fetterman Memorial Award, Harleysville Insurance College Scholarship Award and the President’s Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement given at Graduation to the top 5% of the class. Academically, Darin worked hard in the classroom during is high school career earning honor roll status each marking period through graduation, Darin became a member of the National Honor Society and served as the president in his senior year. 


After high school, Darin attended Lehigh University where he graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Architecture with Departmental Honors, earning an overall G.P.A. of  3.46. While at the Lehigh University, Darin earned three varsity letters as a member of the Lehigh University football team where he started at tight end for two  years and saw significant time in the backfield from the fullback position. During the , Lehigh vs. Yale game in October of 2002, Darin was chosen the Offensive Player of the Week. At the 2002 annual football banquet, Darin received the “Outstanding Receiver” award. He was part of three consecutive Patriot League Championships advancing to the NCAA 1-AA 2nd round playoffs twice and the 1st round once. Darin and his fellow seniors finished their careers with a 41-8 overall record, second best in Lehigh football history. Academically, Darin made the Dean’s List in Fall 2000, Spring 2002, Fall 2002 and Spring 2003 and was chosen a 2001 Verizon 2nd team Academic All-American.


 Darin’s athletic and academic careers at Upper Perk and Lehigh University exemplifies that through hard work and determination, you can attain goals you set for yourself.
